Really pleased to hear that the Blackdown Hills Transition Group has got off the ground. This groups aims to be an umbrella organisation or a hub to assist all the many environmental groups already existing or trying to set up. The website is http://blackdownhillstransition.org and says it “exists as a hub to support and encourage community action that reduces carbon reliance, and plans for energy descent in the Blackdown Hills in East Devon.”
The group are working towards getting some funding to get initial transition training to enable them to help other local groups more. If you are interested in getting involved or simply finding out more or going on the mailing list – the contact person is Selena Mitford on Selenamitford@ hotmail.com
